I can't quite believe it - no blog since APRIL!!! So here we are at the end of September and I have learned to make changes to my website. I am certainly not competent yet but at least I have updated and replaced some images of items that have been sold or given away as presents and, of course, I have revised some prices and marked items off "in the end of summer sale".
A lot has been happening with the main thing being a very odd injury that has pretty much curtailed my 2022 summer tennis season. All was going so well until I went on that lovely long Love Her Wild Walk in June. I was definitely well-trained but somehow the demands of the walk from Lands End to Zennor were too much for my foot/ankle. Such a shame that I ended with this injury. I so enjoyed my walking partner Penny's company and had a super day - never once expecting to suffer an impingement or whatever it is. It all became apparent during the Penzance Open where I ended up in 3 doubles semi-finals (all to be played on the same day). I hated to let my doubles partners down and carried on but I should have pulled out.
Visits to the physio/special exercises etc have not done the trick. I played singles at the St Ives Club Championships and ended up in pain again. This time I pulled out of the entire tournament and I have not really come back. It is terribly frustrating to be injured. I keep "trying my ankle out" and end up feeling the pain again. I had a little go at tennis and longish walks but it's no good. Fortunately, the GP has been in touch and agreed that I should have an xray. I am now awaiting an appointment.
We have had a holiday in France, going by ferry and taking the car over which was most enjoyable. Lots of swimming and a little walking - and another holiday is coming up shortly - all to easy the pain of not playing tennis???
We had visits from family which are always great and there is a busy October coming up. Did someone talk to me about another book? Yes, but I think I need to get myself sorted out first. The draft can wait a bit longer.
From time to time I will do my art. I really enjoy that.
So, that's September almost gone. Onwards and upwards!
