I won't leave it so long this time to update my blog. So what has happened since October? We have been away to the Isle of Man and Southampton and had a good time in both places. A close family member has had Covid but luckily got over it. I have had minor surgery and also got over it very well and our daughter and son-in-law's dog had to suffer terribly when fireworks, poppers and bangers went off for Halloween and Guy Fawkes Night.
Another piece of artwork has been sold and more items have been produced. I am still working out where I can showcase the work and my two books but to be honest I am really worried about Covid risks with all these indoor events. I may sign up for one or two though.
I have recently been asked to write a small article for the West Cornwall Methodist magazine, something I always enjoy. Not sure if it will be published before Christmas but it will be in the Christmas/New Year issue.
On the sporting front I have taken part in my first Parkrun since lockdown and finished with a Personal Best in the pouring rain in Southampton. All the "virtual" but real running training has paid off. After a short break from tennis due to surgery and being away I am back playing - played four times this week on three different surfaces - indoor
hard, artificial clay and artificial grass and then the clay again. It's all good fun.
We have attended the first "party" since lockdown and although it felt a little crowded we have survived it without contracting anything nasty. It still does not feel right to be in a room with lots of people, and personally I still feel uncomfortable about it and keep away from everyone as much as I can. I fear that many think it's all over but it certainly is NOT.
The social diary is filling up though and we have to make a decision about participation as we go along.
Stay safe everyone and don't do anything stupid!!!
