One-handed February News

I was looking forward to this moment - telling you all about my new studio etc. However, life had other ideas for me. On a lovely holiday on Fuerteventura I had a very unfortunate accident on day 3/4 (yes, in the middle of the night!) and suffered a hairline fracture of my right distal radius.

I am now typing like a non-pro with one hand but I have use of my fingers despite my plaster cast and can at least use the computer a little bit. It's all quite slow. Never mind, I am getting pretty good with just my left hand but it is frustrating. No tennis and no running for a while, that's the really bad news and, of course, I can't do any artwork either.

The new studio has been built and is sitting proudly in the garden. The electrics will be fitted at the end of next week. After that I will be able to move in - with just one hand or perhaps two? I can't wait. Then it will be finishing off around the back, another coat of clear outside protection and finally painting. We will also have part of our drive and the back garden updated with modern resin pathways - something I am very much looking forward to.

I am currently selling off the artwork made in Cornwall which has been a great success so far. It will be great to produce my first piece of New Forest Coastal Art when I have use of both hands again.

Now awaiting an appointment at the local Fracture Clinic.
