October 2022 - perhaps not the best month in the life of the Hosken family! Going on holiday on 1st was followed by an extremely silly accident the very next day in Ibiza! Luckily I was OK but my other half was pretty badly injured. That was effectively the end of the holiday before it had even begun. Ibiza is such a nice place - not at all the party island it is reputed to be! The North is beautiful and very quiet. I enjoyed it so much there but I can understand that Des would rather forget it.
Arriving back home we found out that we both had Covid! Neither of us suffered too much and we got over it quickly as well but it meant working from home for a week and staying in.
Well, I am quite used to "staying in" now. My ankle/foot injury has not gone away. No running or tennis (just walking and cycling) since the summer really. The first xray appointment had to be postponed because of Covid but I had my xray today. Will be a week or so until I found out anything. Enough is enough. I have decided to go back on the tennis court to give it a go. I can't really make it any worth than it is.
Went to London last week and had a great time. No mishaps there and lovely to spend a couple of days with family. A very quick visit and lunch in the New Forest was a bonus - and we came home with Seven, the dog! She is here on holiday until next month. We are always happy to have her around.
Not looking forward to Halloween though. Seven is a great dog but very, very scared of bangs (fireworks), so we shall see. We have her here on 31st October and 5th November. Hopefully Cornwall will be better than home for her.
I am looking forward to 1st November when I will be giving my first talk in about 3 years! Gosh, I have almost forgotten that I am a writer. My artwork has sold quite well lately and I have enjoyed making my pieces just as much as writing!
Nothing is quite the same these days, I feel but we must look forward and embrace change.
