It is time to write a new blog. Somehow I am not the quickest off the mark when it comes to updating my site!
Book sales and promotions have taken very much of a back seat which is a real shame but inevitable. This does not mean that I don't write anymore and that I don't take every possible opportunity to promote my work. I do, I just don't write books for the moment. I am pausing because of the current climate - all very strange. It may sound odd but I have massively enjoyed lockdown but don't get me wrong, I don't want to see it happen again. It would be wrong in so many ways.
The virus and our new way of living has taken over normal life.
I joined a virtual running group during lockdown and I am very much into that now. I have also completed my charity challenge for Diabetes UK (although I am still stepping until the official end on 30 September 2020) and thanks to Miles for Medals (said virtual running group!) I have overshot my financial target for the charity. Something to be proud of.
St Ives Tennis Club have managed to complete their new courts project. We have lovely new artificial clay courts - the only ones in Cornwall so far? For me, tennis in Penzance and St Ives is still happening as before but perhaps less on the competitive side for the time being.
Des and I have managed to get away (again). After all, it was our 30th Wedding Anniversary and my birthday. We had a fantastic time in Swanage, Dorset over the last Bank Holiday weekend and then travelled on to East Sussex to walk part of the South Downs Way and met up with an old friend (who we had seen for over 20 years) - all socially distanced, of course! On the way back we spent two lovely days in Hampshire with our daughter, son-in-law and their dog. We were very, very lucky
- the weather was great, too.
Now back at work in my day job. I like being back in the office with my colleagues. Will I be able to carry on cycling, driving and walking/running home? Who knows - strange new world!
