Not bad writing my website blog this early, on 6th November, for once! November has started an awful lot better than last month, that's for sure.
I gave a talk to Zennor WI on 1st November and really enjoyed the experience. It was good for business and publicity, too. So I shall definitely see if I can get any other speaker slots anywhere, now that face-to-face meetings are happening again.
If anyone is looking for a speaker (20-30min max plus questions) then please contact me via the website contact form. I shall take the audience on a journey from German Exchange Visitor to Cornish Author and I will also talk about my latest art projects.
We currently have Seven, the fun dog, staying with us. She had (and still has) a lovely time in Cornwall while Julia & Luke have been away. On Wednesday Seven will be handed back, and I know that we will miss her very much. She has been so much fun - and she loves the beach!!!
Last night was not great for her though. Firework noises always cause big problems for her. We looked after her at home in Southampton one Guy Fawkes Night and the dog just went nuts. She was extremely fortunate to be with us in Carbis Bay last night. There is hardly anything happening near our house but the few bangs that she did hear set her off pretty badly. A normally very calm and confident dog was reduced to a bundle of nerves, shaking all over, breathing heavily etc. It is heart-breaking to witness it. It was a good job that the few bangs that did happen around here finished when we took her for her last walk at night. She was still on high alert though.
All was well this morning and we had an hour on the beach - what a joy
!
