We are more than halfway through the month already but here is this month's blog. I am not looking forward to the coming 12 months for many reasons but what is happening in the world right now is probably the most frightening of all! How is all this going to end? World War III is well on the way and that is not a great prospect. Why do people never learn? Is it not possible to live without serious conflict - the answer is NO, certainly once 50+ years are up things are starting to wobble...
Enough of that for the minute. The good news is that any injuries seem to have healed and tennis and running are going well. Yes, I have returned to doing parkruns (thanks to my dear son-in-law who always gets us out on a parkrun somewhere!). Once the news of Heartlands closing made the headlines I tried that parkrun and I really like it. Three laps around a flatish course suits me fine!
Artwork-wise not much has happened. I have not started any projects in 2024 yet due to being busy with other things but the collection of materials has not stopped and I am just looking for a break in the weather to spend time on art projects. Even after Christmas some of the items for winter 2023 have been sold so it's still going OK but it is very much of a side line. I will update this site as much as I can and I am always happy to do a deal if anyone would like something.
It is nice to see a new little restaurant opening on our doorstep. I gave them a piece of my artwork as a "welcome" present and it is great to see it on display every time we visit the place. The only worry is - how long will it survive? It certainly has potential. We will support the young team as and when we can but the hospitality sector is struggling, even here in holiday-land Cornwall!
As I am writing this I am looking out at a rare sight - a very slight covering of snow! No tennis this morning so I will have to make the most of it.
Take care everyone, have a good 2024!
