Happy New Year! No further blogs at the end of last year you ask? Well no, we had a busy time. Family visited - not all at the same time - and that kept us busy. Tennis league matches started with great successes but there were a couple of comprehensive losses just before the Christmas break, too. Two outings only for me in the pre-Christmas period, I am afraid. One was an invitation to St Ives Rotary's President's Night at Tregenna Castle Hotel and the other was the annual Presentation Evening of St Ives Tennis Club. Both events took place before the Omicron crisis and - as far as I know - all participants stayed safe. After that my family and I did not go anywhere! I was looking forward to heading for the pub after work on New Year's Eve but we decided it would be by far too risky - so it meant driving straight home and entertain the family and one friend at home. We did not venture out later in the evening either.
All a bit strange, really. Tennis is still happening outdoors and indoors and I am keeping up my running (mainly on my own which I enjoy but I am determined to do more Parkruns this year). The Foundation Training that I enjoyed so much in the past
has come to a halt since our lovely instructor has moved his family to Portugal.
As and when time allows I continue with some artwork. Writing an article for the West Cornwall Methodist magazine before Christmas got my interest in writing going again and I am sure I will continue with Book Number Three during 2022.
This website needs an update, for sure. We are hoping that my Webmaster and girlfriend will visit later this month. I must make a list of jobs for him to do.
Have a great January everyone and try and stay away from Omicron!
