April is here!

Well, no blog for March! Never mind, I did a lot in March. It is not often that I enter competitions but I entered a writing competition (oh, yes!) - a drabble (a story in exactly 100 words). Today I have heard that there are 2500+ entries so the chances are not good but it was fun doing it and it got me going on the writing front.

Art is still going really well. Winter is always a great time for collecting materials. Both coasts offered plenty. I can't wait to get out there again! Interest has been a little slower perhaps but I have - for the first time ever - entered one piece in a visual arts competition. Most entrants are semi-pros, I am quite sure, but it was open to me so I entered something. Even if it is just for publicity purposes it's usually a good experience entering these things.

I have some new business cards, made new (and hopefully successful) contacts with some very exciting future prospects for my art work.

Foot problem is also a lot better and I have been back playing tennis at the normal rate for some time now. I remain careful, trying not to overdo it. I am now waiting to return to running but I know I have to take that very, very slowly in order not to compromise my tennis. New footwear has made all the difference. It was my chiropractor who put me on to that and it is the only thing that has really helped. I am confident that I can hike longer distances again etc but the main focus is, of course, on tennis.

Although we have a new addition to our four-wheeled household I still love cycling, particularly to work. No matter how many vehicles we have I won't give up the two-wheels as long as the weather is OK.

This is a special time for my other half with a few events coming up in the next few weeks and months. Let's hope that the world is not deteriorating any further - we live in incredibly dangerous and uncertain times.

Enough doom and gloom. Come on, let's make the most of what we've got! Happy Easter!
