Hi All - I am writing this as the newly crowned ladies singles and ladies doubles champion 2023 of St Ives Tennis Club. It's been a bit of a strange tournament - as the St Ives coach called it - it has all gone tournamental - but it was all good for me! I was in three finals and won two which is a personal best for me, I think! We certainly need a larger entry in years to come and perhaps something will have to change but I am not complaining!
Art has also been going well. Not too many rainy days to allow me to work inside but with such fine weather and the opportunity to go swimming, walking etc artwork can take a back seat for the minute. We have had our 33rd wedding anniversary and I have had a birthday (yes, I was the oldest finalist in the singles and I won!) which always means a couple of days of celebrations.
I am writing this on my second day off. No work yesterday or today as I am on annual leave. Can't wait to go on holiday again soon but there is quite a lot to tie up before we can go.
I have looked at a couple of art competitions and I am very tempted to enter. The Raw Lit Magazine that took one of my paintings last time is interested in another submission, too. I am now a member of the Visual Artists Association which means that I need to put my prices up just a little bit, I am afraid. The first items for the Christmas season have been completed - yes, it is time to think about that again! With Julia visiting later this month I really need to get something ready for her to take back to Southampton to my sales outlet at Aldermoor Farm.
Well, can't rest on our laurels - onwards and upwards!
